Installation work exploring the nature of low frequencies (bass) in relation to communication. Several experiments were carried out in different areas in a large building with different types of sounds. Low frequency synthesised sounds were produced and experimented with to then perform with at an exhibition. The objects were designed to not resemble generic speakers in aiming to distort or question what the objects become when they seem to be communicating with each other. No music was played, only samples of sounds and drum breaks. A connection between the objects is made when people are in the presence of the objects communicating with each other. They become living things that are able to produce powerful, loud sounds together.
The exhibition was open for a week in Brighton.
I plan to continue experimenting with the objects, introducing feedback loops and delay and echo techniques used in dub related music.
